I am so bored of my house at the moment, I feel like it needs a massive Spring update! I would love to completely re-do our lounge – a new couch and re-painting but thanks to standard maternity pay starting next month it’s just not going to happen. Instead I’m just going to add cheaper pieces and hopefully this will give the house a bit of a refresh.

Interior Wishlist

As you can see I’m loving plants! How cute are these cactus candles from Next? They would look gorgeous on some floating shelves above my couch, I’m obsessed with those and desperately need to buy them! I also love the artificial plants in the pots and vases from New Look – they have some really nice homeware items at the moment! My favourite though is the hanging plant in the glass bubble which is also from New Look. This will just add something to boring walls or the corners of the room.

I’m also on the look out for new ceiling lights. I’ve found a few from Cox and Cox* including this drop down copper light which would look gorgeous in my lounge. I also love the metal trapeze light for a more subtle look which I’m trying to aim for although a statement light can really transform a dull room. I’m also looking for a new clock but I think Johnny might be a little upset about getting rid of our old one. He can sit there for hours staring at the clock on the wall, giggling away to himself, it’s so cute! I love this simple grey clock from Debenhams, again it’s quite subtle.

Accessories wise, I love the gold trinket dish from Laura Ashley and also the gold leaf mug from H&M. I really like gold accessories, they always look so much more expensive than they are. I actually want this green cactus tray to use as a blog photo prop too. I love how much the floral vase screams Summer! It will look gorgeous with pretty pastel flowers in it either in the lounge or even my kitchen as it’s all monochrome in there. My final pick is this floral cushion from Next. Although I’m not sure it would go with my current couch, when I get my dream grey couch these will look gorgeous on there.

Have you got any interior transformations planned?

With less than 7 weeks to go until Baby Heapy is due to arrive, it’s time to get those last minute bits and although I feel pretty organised, I’m always worrying I’ve forgotten something! The nursery is more or less finished and I really can’t wait to post the finished room on my blog! For now, I’ve compiled a list of a few essentials which I still need to buy.

Last Minute Baby Shopping List

As a first time mum, I’m still learning about what we need to make our lives a bit easier and recently discovered I should buy pram mattress covers. This means if baby is sick or we have any other accidents (i.e. poo explosions!) it’s not going to ruin the pram. We have the Joolz Geo pram and I love the matching grey melange sheet so I’m waiting until Black Friday for some offers as I can’t find it with free delivery anywhere!

I’ve heard amazing reviews of the Purflo nest from my fellow Mummy bloggers Kirsty and Georgina, so I’d love to see how we get on with it. I wouldn’t be able to put them on the couch in it as they’d probably be bothered by Daphne but it’s great to put inside the moses basket so they feel a little more wrapped up. It’s also a lot cheaper than alternatives such as the Sleepyhead and has a breathable padded bumper and mesh. If my baby likes to be held a lot, I’m hoping this is snug enough to make them feel like they’re still being cuddled.

I haven’t bought a breast pump yet as it seems a lot to spend if for some reason I’m unable to breast feed. I’d also rather pay a bit extra and get a really good electric one as I just think for the amount I’ll use it, it’s worth being able to do it quick and relatively stress free. After a bit of research, I now have my eye on the electric Nuby Natural Touch Digital Breast Pump as it has different suction and speed options plus it’s quiet which means I can use it whilst Baby’s asleep.

Although we have a We Made Me wrap, Ryan also wants to buy a carrier for him to use. I’ll mainly be using the wrap inside when I’m trying to get stuff done and can’t leave the baby. Chelsey recommended the Boots Babyway 3in1 which looks amazing value but on the pricier side the BabyBjorn We Carrier looks fab too.

Again, some of my Mummy friends have recommended a white noise toy and I love the ones from myHummy. I’ve particularly got my eye on the ecru white Snoozy as it can be put on the car seat and pram too to settle the baby. The sleep sensory activates myHummy in response to movement and sound and has a non-stop mode for up to 12 hours of white noise. This comes with five types of white noise including amniotic fluid with heartbeat, 2 frequencies of a hairdryer, ocean waves and rainfall.

I’m panicking a little that we don’t have enough sleepsuits for when they’re born. As we have no idea what size they’ll be, I need a few in each size and I only have ones big enough for 9lbs. I’m really hoping Baby won’t be any bigger but you never know! Based on my bump size at my last appointment, the midwife said the baby would weigh around 7lbs 10 but this is a very rough estimation! I love these arctic sleepsuits from Mothercare so I’m going to pick these up in a bigger size just in case!

Finally, a recommendation from Katie is the Tommee Tippee warmer. This seems so reasonable for how convenient it is at less than £10. It heats milk and food when out and about including breast milk and formula. This will be great if there’s no where near by to get hot water.

Is there anything else I need?!

Another Wednesday wishlist and this time it’s Nursery Decor! We’ve recently started on the nursery, the furniture’s up but now it’s all about adding those extra special touches! If you saw my baby haul at the weekend, you’ll notice I’ve got a love for animals so I really want to reflect that into the nursery now.

Nursery Decor Wishlist

Obviously because of Daphne, my favourite animals have to be dogs and I love Dex the Dog from Zazu. This musical dog is a soft comforter which when shaken makes 6 different noises such as a waterfall, heartbeat and melodies. The toy turns on when the baby cries and then fades off after 10 minutes. It’s suitable from birth and sounds perfect to me!

I’m really struggling to find lots of cute accessories which I need to fill up the outside shelves in my wardrobe and drawers but I love this cute bunny frame from H&M. I haven’t got a photo to put in it yet but I’ll get one of the baby when they’re born. I have changed my mind so many times on which prints to get but I think I’ve finally decided on these 3 from Etsy. I’m not keen on the pink/yellow grass because I think it’s a bit girly and as I’ve said I’m sure it’s a boy! However, the lady that paints these has said she can do yellow only grass so I think I’m going to go for those along with these grey frames from Wilkinsons.

I’m stuck between two mobiles from Mama and Papas. If money was no object I’d be buying one of these handmade mobiles from Etsy but seeing as I’ll need every penny whilst on maternity leave, there’s no way I can spend £300 on a cot mobile. The first from Mamas and Papas is this cute white rabbit musical mobile but then I really like the Sweet Dreams one too. I think I’ll wait until everythings ready and then order both to see which one goes with the room the best.

For another accessory for a shelf, I really love this light up star from Not on the High Street. I’ve seen a few cute pieces from here but they’re mostly personalised so I’ll have to wait until the baby’s born! We still aren’t decided on which chair to get, I’ve seen a few in Ikea but I think this grey wing chair looks the most comfiest. We are going to venture there in a few weeks to finally decide but last time we went, they didn’t have many grey chairs on display. The chair has definitely been the hardest decision so far, all the best ones seem to be in America!

I am obsessed with this elephant laundry basket but again it’s in America and the price for this plus shipping is close to £200! I personally can’t justify that but it is so pretty and would set the room off a treat. Finally, I think a nappy stacker is really going to come in useful once they move into their own room. I love this white and grey one from John Lewis but there are a few on the market that are equally as nice!

Do you have any Nursery Decor site recommendations?

I actually think I’ve been pretty well behaved regarding buying a lot of clothes for Baby mainly because of the limited choice of unisex items. There’s been so many times I’ve been shopping and thought ‘Oh I’d buy that if I knew it was girl’ and the same with a boy too! I’ve actually bought a little girls swimming costume already because it was £3.50 in the La Redoute sale and was too cute! I suppose it’s a bit silly really as I’m convinced I’m having a boy but I’m sure someone close will have a girl soon. However, I have developed quite a Baby clothing wishlist now after weeks of not buying anything and I think I’m going to have to pick up a few of these before they arrive. I definitely have enough to keep me going for the first week once Baby is born but it doesn’t hurt to have a bit extra especially in various sizes as although I’m expecting to have a pretty big Baby, you never know what could happen.

Unisex Clothing Wishlist

When I first saw this striped romper from H&M, I wasn’t sure if it was boy or unisex but after gaining the opinions of my trusty whatsapp mummy blogger ladies (they are absolute legends) we decided it was unisex! I’ve struggled to find much in H&M that’s unisex but I absolutely love this and also these little bear booties! Everything’s really reasonable from H&M too and I can see myself purchasing a lot from them once baby is here and we know the gender.

These cute grey with white cloud slippers from Vertbaudet would look lovely with the high neck grey romper from Mamas & Papas. It looks really warm which is perfect for a January baby. I love this sand cardigan which would go with more or less everything, also from Mamas & Papas. There’s some gorgeous clothes on JoJo Maman Bebe and I particularly like this white sleep suit with gold stars. They are quite pricey as this one’s £16 but they are made from the softest cotton.

Moving onto another of my favourite unisex stores, The White Company. Again this simple sleep suit is so cute and I know their stuff is such good quality! I’ve got an obsession with animal items at the moment and the little elephant is super cute! You may have seen me mention on Twitter that I’d ordered this gorgeous animal blanket from The White Company and it’s even more beautiful in real life.

M&S have some fab unisex packs including this cute hedgehog set. I haven’t really got many tops and pants for baby yet as I’m pretty limited with choice but I love this set that’s included. For £20 this includes everything that’s needed in those first couple of weeks until I can get out and buy gender related clothing including 2 bibs, a hat, a sleep suit, a long-sleeved bodysuit, a short-sleeved bodysuit, a lightweight jacket and crawlers. For £6 you can’t beat this two pack of sleep suits from F&F at Tesco, I do prefer the grey one but the white one is still pretty cute too!

Mori are a brand I’ve been stalking since becoming pregnant. Their designs are mainly unisex and I’ve heard amazing reviews about how soft their sleepsuits are. As you may be able go tell, I’m all about the grey so this plain grey all in one is perfect when the little one arrives in January as it’ll be super warm!

Finally, I forgot to include it in my image but I’ve already ordered this fleecey bear suit from La Redoute as baby is due in January so it’s important to keep them warm when we’re out for walks with Daphne! I’ve bought a few bits from them recently which I’ll be revealing in my next unisex haul!

Have you got your eye on any baby clothes?

This is the first of many Wednesday Wishlists – baby style! Myself and some other mummy to be bloggers have started this series in the hope to inspire each other (and others) with some of our baby picks, I’ll leave their links at the bottom of this post. I think that deciding on a changing bag is a huge decision and definitely shouldn’t be taken lightly as I’ll be using this bag everyday for the foreseeable future. There are some gorgeous bags on the market now and here’s the ones I’ve narrowed it down to.

Changing Bag Wishlist

Storksak Noa
I’ve loved this bag since I first started looking and it is the most reasonable out of my picks at £75. I think this is the perfect size bag for me, it’s still spacious but not as big as some of my other picks. Made from wipe clean canvas, the Noa also comes with a padded changing mat, inside insulated pocket and a mini organiser bag.

Storksak Elizabeth
A more pricey pick from Storksak is the Elizabeth. Made with real leather, the bag also contains an insulated bottle holder, 9 inner zipped pockets which will be handy for finding things quickly and a padded changing mat. Not only does the Elizabeth look beautiful but it’s also very practical.

Jem and Bea Amber
A simple yet elegant looking changing bag. This would be the best option if I didn’t want my changing bag to look like something that carries nappyies but instead it just looks like an everyday handbag. There’s also an option to personalise the leather tag which I think is really cute. As with the previous two, this bag contains a padded changing bag, insulated pocket aswell as a detachable crossbody strap.

Tiba + Marl Kaspar Knapsack
I am still deciding whether it might be easier to have a rucksack rather than one I can clip on the pram. I’ll be taking the pram and the dog out a lot together and I don’t know if the bag will just get in the way. The Tiba + Marl bags are so pretty too, this gold snake skin effect is my favourite. The bag comes with a deluxe changing bag, a mini purse bag and even an internal laptop pocket!

Pacapod Firenze
I’m not going to lie I love everything about this bag. The fact it comes with little pods inside (hence the name) to separate everything and keep the food away from the dirty nappies is what sells it for me! I also love the colour as my pram is also grey and it looks just like an everyday handbag. I just need to get saving those pennies for this luxury piece! The bag also includes a changing mat and a drawstring bag for smelly clothes!

Jem and Bea Black Jemima
This bag looks so similar to my current Kate Spade bag that I use every day! Again, made from real leather this is a stunning changing bag and maybe too nice to put dirty nappies in! I love the fine detail and the black contrasting strap. It features 8 interior pockets, a water repellent lining and padded changing mat.

Storksak Bailey
A bigger size changing bag that is probably better for a weekend away bag rather than an everyday changing bag. However I love the style of it with the contrasting colours. This can be easily wiped clean and comes with a FAB bag which you store food and drink in.

Which changing bag shall I go for?!
