My diet was meant to start at the beginning of February yet I seem to be eating more now than when I was pregnant. As I’m breastfeeding, I do need more calories but I don’t really have an excuse for all the chocolate and cakes I’ve eaten over the weekend. I’ve been looking for some healthy meal ideas and lighter alternatives to the usual rubbish I’ve been eating.
I was recently sent a few products from Thai Taste including a red Thai curry kit*, rice noodles*, tamarind paste* and sriracha sauce*. I love Thai food and anything spicy so I’ve loved trying these out. Over the weekend we used the Thai kit and it was gorgeous! The kit includes the red Thai paste, coconut milk and a sachet of herbs. The kit contains the exact amount you need so there’s no waste or left overs. We added prawns, green beans, fish sauce, red chillies (the hotter the better!) and the Thai Taste rice noodles for an easy and delicious meal.
As I’m still breastfeeding, I need to be careful with how much alcohol I consume. The odd glass is fine but also alcohol is really calorific so the Scavi & Ray non alcoholic prosecco* is a great alternative at the moment. Also, I don’t think I could cope with a hangover and a newborn baby so I don’t feel guilty about drinking this whole bottle in one night. I just wish I’d known about this brand whilst pregnant! It’s very light as is prosecco and having drank many glass of prosecco, I can confirm they taste and smell almost exactly the same. I’ll definitely be picking up another bottle of this for Mothers Day celebrations. This is also a lovely gift for any pregnant friends you may have, it looks like a real bottle of wine – cork and pop too!
